When I open outlook it opens and then freezes. Then shortly after I get a
message saying "outlook has encournterd a problem and needs to close".

I have installed & re-installed all to no avail.

Outlook Express runs fine though.

I'm using XP and I've also downloaded all the patches/fixes.

Event viewer message:

Hanging application OUTLOOK.EXE, version 9.0.0.2416, hang module hungapp,
version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at

I still can't find a fix. I could not find a .pst file on my PC.

What type of account are you using?
Also stop by at http://office.microsoft.com/officeupdate as your version of
Office doesn't have any Service Packs and additional updates applied.
