Outlook 2000 & multiple PST files...

I have numerous older pst files.
Some are copies of the files done in windows (copy / paste).
Some are exported files from within ol2000.
Some are archive copies from within ol2000.

Working with these are a pain in the a$$.
I have scaned all of them individually & removed duplicated from withinn each
PST.
But I still have numerous duplications across the various files.

I was hoping to be able to copy all of the files to 1 PST file so that I
could then clean the dups & archive correctly by year. But that won't work in
OL2000 because of the size limitations.

I have access to OL2002 and OL2003. Does anyone know thier file limitations?
Can I import to either of those programs to accomplish what I want?
Can I then export back to OL2000?

Does anyone have another course of action I might follow?

All support is welcome.

There are commercially-available duplicate handlers.

The limits in OL 2002 are identical to those in OL 2000. OL 2003 can create
PSTs from 20 GB to 32 TB.

Importing is rarely the way to move data from one Outlook instance into
another, but yes, you could use it. You'd still have duplicates to handle
afterward.

Exporting to a PST is never the way to transfer data from one Outlook
instance to another. In this case (OL 2003 to an earlier version) simply
won't work because exporting in Outlook 2003 always creates a Unicode PST,
which OL 2000 can't read. You can create an Outlook 2000-format PST and
then export to that, but exporting loses data. It's better to create the OL
2000-format PST and then copy folders to it. When you're done copying,
close the PST in Outlook and then close Outlook. The PST should be
transportable back to the OL 2000 system when you can use File>Open>Personal
Folders File to access it.
