Outlook 2000 name completion not working

In Outlook 2000 (windows 98) when you go to compose a new
email and you type in the user's username, it does not
come up with the person's name in there. For exampe if I
wanted to send an email to John Doe, I would type in johnd
under the to and it would pop up John Doe. If I type in
johnd it goes to John Doe, but it doesn't come up like it
knows what the email address is. I found an article that
told how to reset the nickname and the automatic
completion caches in outlook, but when I did a search
there was no files listed with *.nk2 I checked for that
file on another computer that does work and that file
isn't on their machine either. Can anyone help?

Thanks!

Versions of Outlook earlier than Outlook 2002 have no autocompletion
feature. They have a feature called auto-resolution. If you enter part of a
name or a nickname then tab out of the field (or hit Alt-K [Check Names]),
Outlook will attempt to resolve the name against your address book. If it
can't it'll red underline it and you can right click on the name to manually
resolve it. Outlook will save the resolution for future use.
