Outlook 2000 Names replacing e-mail addresses

Jake

Hi, All

I'm using Outlook 2000 with WindowsME and synching successfully with both a Windows CE device and a Psion. But recently, in my Contacts, in the e-mail listing, I'm getting the name of the contact (which brings up the Properties when clicked) instead of the e-mail address itself

The e-mail address synchs fine with the handhelds; it's just not displaying itself properly in a Contact in Outlook 2000

How can I fix this

Thanks
Jake

Depends on your mail support mode.
Only Corp/Workgroup allows access to the Display name.
Such a change is cosmetic only. Not sure why you feel you need to make it.

I've searched this forum, and found that my problem may not have a solution

I'm using IMO, which does not seem to be display-adjustable

But why could I display the e-mail addresses before, and now am stuck with Names

Thanks
Jake

Thanks for your quick post. In fact, your post beat my follow-up about IMO and its lack of adjustable display. I use IMAP so I'm stuck with what I have

As for the cosmetics, the lack of a visible e-mail address simply means more clicks to Properties/Email and copy if one wants to send on a contact's e-mail without using Outlook mail

It's a strange bug, to have an e-mail display and then not, and nothing in between

Again, much obliged for your help

You'll be interested to know that in successive versions of Outlook the
Display Name was changed to show both the email address and the familiar
name.
