Outlook 2000 new e-mail notification

Is there a way to have Outlook selectively trigger the new e-mail notification?

The PCs at our office are running Windows XP SP2 with Office 2000 SP-3
(9.0.0.8954). I have defined rules in Outlook that move suspected junk mail
to a separate folder. This works fairly well. I like receiving the
nofication from Outlook (the tone and the pop-up dialog) when new mail has
been received, but not when it's been moved to the junk mail folder. The
e-mail options for this feature in Outlook appear to be "all or none" in that
either it's on and all new e-mail triggers the notification or it's off and
there is no notification.

No, you cannot distinguish the new mail notification for regular vs. junk mail. Outlook 2000 has very old rules and not very configurable. They get better with each version.
