Lila Duncan
Please can anyone advise me on this? I've been struggling with it for
hours.
Until today 2 users have been sharing Outlook from the same single
user area of Win98SE. This Is the user area for "Lila" and the
Outlook.pst file is in the default location of C:\Windows\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst.
Today I made a "New User" ID "Jilly" in Windows and choose to have
"...copies of the current items and their contents" made with the
intention of avoiding starting the new user from scratch.
Now, in Jilly's new user area, when she opens Outlook she gets the
same Outlook.pst file opening from the same location showing a top
level folder "Outlook Today [Lila]"
This seems OK for a start because half the sub folders in there are
Jilly's anyway.
My plan was to copy this default Outlook.pst file, loaded with our
combined folders to D:\Jilly\, then open it in Jilly's Outlook, change
its name to Jilly instead of Lila, then close the first "Outlook
Today [Lila]" ,
I can't get it to work though, because Outlook won't let me close the
unwanted "Outlook Today [Lila]", giving the error message, "you
cannot close the personal folders file that contains your calendar,
contacts and POP mailbox".
What am I doing wrong?
