Outlook 2000 not load and not responding

T

When launched, Outlook 2000 not load, just show Outlook startup banner, and
not responding anymore.
Restarting PC does not solve problem. Looks like something is damaged.
Outlook Express works normally.

Thanks.

Outlook and Outlook Express are not the same programs so to avoid confusion,
stick with just outlook in this discussion.

See http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/filepath.htm for file locations.

Are you using Internet mode or corp/workgroup mode? See Help, About if
unsure.

I would try two things first -

Does outlook start in safe mode? At start menu, run, type outlook.exe /safe
to find out. (See http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/switches.htm for
more assistance with command lines)

If using Corp mode, does it work if you make a new profile? Control panel,
mail - do not copy or delete the current profile, make a new one.

As previously stated you have to search to include hidden for *.pst
Or use the link Diane provided for file locations

This is correct for Internet mode. In Corp it opens the profiles dialog but
Internet mode doesn't use profiles and to create a new profile, you need to
remove the current profile/account and make a new one.

If you haven't already used Help, Detect and Repair, try it. If you have and
it doesn't help you either need to fix the shortcut or make a new profile.

program installation folder, created new shortcut and sent it to Desktop.
Anyway, Outlook not work, still show splash screen logo and freeze.

Again, i do not use no any Corp mode, and I've never used this mode before.
I had normal (standard) Office 2000 installation.

Will try "Detect and Repair" feature.

thank you.
