I am experiencing difficulty in receiving and sending emails with moderate to
large attachments The size limit appears to be 225 Kb or greater. Many of the
attachments are .pdf files.
When receiving an email, the processor rus at 100% for quite some time.
After the activity subsides, there is no paperclip.
When sending an email I get the following error message - 'An unknwn error
has occurred. Please save any existing work and restart the programme.
(Account: 'designsoftware.biz', SMTP Server: 'mail.westnet.com.au', Error
Number: 0x80004005).
The symptom began on the 18th December. The attachments are present at my
ISP and can be viewed using Outlook Express 6 but not with Outlook 2000.
Currently the timeout for my email account is set to 4 min 30 secs. and my
attachment security is set to None.
I have Norton Internet Security 2008 installed but, under the guidance of
Symantec, the symptom persisted even when Norton, including the firewall, was
fully disabled.
My ISP assures me that there is no communication problem between my PC and
their server.
Any suggestions?
Regards
