Outlook 2000 only opens in Safe mode

When I try to open Outlook 2000 (WinME) it says:
“Outlook has caused an error in <unknown>
Outlook will now close...â€
Installed/scanned with AVG. Cold booted scanned with F-Prot. Scanned with
Ad-aware - all clear. Has a disabled McAfee that refuses to enable. Checked
BHO’s and nothing suspicious there. Deleted temp folder. Deleted via IE,
TIF’s. Re-installed Outlook. Copied and saved the pst file.
I have tried the following switches:
cleanfreebusy, cleanfinders, cleanreminders, cleanviews, checkclient,
recycle, resetfolders, resetoutlookbar, nopreview, cleanschedplus,
/resetfolders /resetoutlookbar together.
The only switch that works is /safe.
I renamed the pst copy then got Outlook to create a new pst file which it
did but then still only opens up in Safe mode.
Just in case, tried scanpst on the copy of the original pst (no errors) and
tried opening that up – still only in Safe mode.
Renamed outcmd.dat
Tried Help|Detect and Repair.
Scandisk’d ok. Defragged the hard disk.
I have deleted all messages and folders from the Inbox.
I have set the views and toolbars to the minimum.
In Tools|Options|Other|Advanced Options|Add-In Manager there were 3 items:
McAfee VirusScan Outlook Email Scanner
AVG Exchange Extension
Net folders
All 3 were unticked already – because of being in Safe mode?
In Tools|Options|Other|Advanced Options|COM Add-Ins there were no items
entered.

Still only opening up in Safe mode.
HELP!

Is Outlook installed in Corporate / Workgroup (CW) mode or Internet Mail
Only (IMO) mode?
You have tried most everything but I'd try switching modes to partly see if
the MAPI implementation or shared files are interfering with Outlook
starting.

Thanks for quick response. It is in IMO mode. On your suggestion, though I
suspect that it was only if it was originally in CW mode, changed it to CW
mode, rebooted, no good. I then changed it back to IMO mode (painful
Installer sequence!), rebooted, still no good. What else is there that could
be making this go so wrong?
Thanks again in advance.
