After a massive hard-drive failure, I've had to install everything onto new
hardware. At the same time, I upgraded Windows Me to XP Home SP2.
Reinstalling Office 2000 went fine, and when I opened Outlook the first time,
it went through the setup wizard with no problems, connected, and downloaded
mail. I got to use it once, and now when I open it, it the window is "faded"
like an inactive window. Clicking on the frame (or anywhere) does nothing to
help, and mail won't open. Clicking on the taskbar button brings it to the
front of any other open windows, and it looks like it should be active, but
it does not respond. There is no right-click menu from the button. Outlook
continues to check for and download mail, which I cannot open. Multiple
deletes and reinstallations (including System Restore) has done nothing to
help. I can only close the program using Task Manager as "Not Responding".
Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated.
