Outlook 2000 - Personal Folders

Nothing can be moved into or around in the pst. Messages
can be moved out, but that is it. When trying to move
them outlook gives the error "cannot move because the
message already exists, was deleted or you don't have
permission". I ran scanpst which found no errors. I also
ran detect and repair on Outlook which completed
successfully. The pst is about 1.8gb, I'm not sure it
there is a size limitation on psts that would cause this
kind of behavior.

Psts do have a limit of 2gb. And when the PST gets to the
size limitation it will not work, But in Office 2000 SR1
there is a built safety that will not allow files to be
added when the pst reaches 1.82 gb. Solution is to delete
or remove messages from the pst by moving some files to
another pst or archiving. Compressing the PST may also
help.

Archiving old mail, removing attachments, emptying the deleted items folder,
etc. will all help with keeping the .pst file in check. Once you do all of
these things, THEN compact the file.
