A few years ago I was told that if you previewed an e-mail through the
Preview Pane feature, if there was any malicious code (e.g. a virus) attached
to the e-mail, it would not be activated because the message had not been
opened. I was told, in general, for a virus to be activated, the e-mail or
its attachment has to be opened. Because a message in preview pane has only
been read and not opened, what happens with viruses? DO they become active
on preview?
Thank you.
