Outlook 2000 Pro can't download messages w attachments while OE6 w

Imported settings/messages/addresses from Outlook Express 6 to Outlook 2000
Pro. While I can recevie messages w/o attachments, those messages with
attachments don't download (although I can download them in OE6 on the same
computer). (EM states that "the server timed out".)
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Theres little point in starting a new thread for a Q that is still current,
only adds to confusion.

This problem wasn't with the machine (failed hard drive) refered to in my
earlier post although I believe both problems are the result of the same
condition - the total size of the e-mails (most of them have pdf
attachments). I'm going to sort the emails (in OE) by year, export the
oldest year to Outlook and archive the e-mail. I'll repeat this untill I'm
left with "current" e-mails - the size of which should not be a problem
(hope??) for Outlook. Again, thanks for taking time to respond to my post.
