Outlook 2000 Professional and XP Home installed

My Documents and then MS Word are taking up to ten minutes to 'load'
Constant 'not responding' messages until eventually it/they appear. Plenty
of memory and disk space and CPU usage very low when this is going on. Re
installed Outlook this morning but no improvement. Any ideas?

I went down the Norton path and disabled the Office plug-in, etc.. No change.

BUT, I now note that it's, first, My Documents which is 'Not Responding' and
then, of course, the Word documents within that. I've also noticed that,
eventually, My Documents FOLDERS open much faster than individual MS Word
files.

Any thoughts? PS I haven't done any of the other 'things' suggested in
your first reply (ie non Norton).
