Hi,

I would like to decrease the size of my outlook.pst file so I can copy onto
a CD as a backup. The CD has approximately 200 MB free space as the rest is
filled with data files.

OS: windows XP professional, outlook 2000 with sp-3

Within outlook, a right mouse click on icon “Outlook Today [ Personal
Folders]†and click on button “Folder size†shows 236181KB. From path “Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook†outlook.pst is 244208KB.

Deleting approximately 50 MB of emails and emptying the “deleted itemsâ€
folder,
“Folder size†shows 160383KB, however the file outlook.pst is unchanged at
244208KB. No change after defragmentation and system reboot.

How can one decrease the size of outlook.pst ?

Thanks in advance for your advice,
George
