First let me say , I have searched the forum and the knowledge base for
answers. Yes I found a similar problem with a soulution, but not for my
situation.
I am running XP with Office 2K, this problem also appeared using W2K, but I
finally got it worked out. Doesn't work with XP.
Problem:
Create a signature file in Word 2K and save it all the while in OUTLOOK.
The contents are text and bitmap or jpg (tried both). Signature set to
appear in outgoing and replies. Signature appears correctly in new email,
without image, or stationary in replies or forwards.
When I go to edit the htm in word from OUTLOOK and try to resave it, it
tells me it can not find the file, that it has been moved or removed. (MS
Knowledge base explains this as a identified problem only in XP and 2002
Outlook, not so). I go into the Signature folder in my doc & settings folder
and it is there, both in the Sig folder and in a sub folder named with my
first name underscore "sig" as the title.
I am perplexed that MS declares this only a problem in Outlook 2002. It
can't be possible I am the only one with this problem.
In addition if I try to edit the htm file with a htm editor like
ARACHNOPHILIA, the file cannot be displayed, it does not show, as if it has a
hidden attribute or a hidden extension.
Any and all help appreciated. Thanks.
