Outlook 2000 (SP3) deletes mail after reading or previewing instead marked as read

Hi,

One of our users gets his mail deleted if he opens an email and then closes
it. It gets also deleted if he reads it with preview pane enabled.

We are running Win2000 SP4 on all computers and servers and Outlook 2000 sp3
on all clients. He has tried on several computers.

Any thoughts?

I doubt that it's being deleted. He probably has the Unread Messages view
turned on, or another view that filters out read messages.
