OUTLOOK 2000 stuck in EXCHANGE mode

R

Robert Hoyt

My system crashed and I had to re-install everything
including office 2000. I picked the wrong setting when
restarting Outlook and choose Exchange and other e-mail vs
my phone line. Now I can not start outlook because it
errors out trying to find the Exchange server. Also gives:
information store could not be opened error then gives:
unknown error 0x86140111 The information store could not be
opened.
I have removed, "I thought", re-booted and reinstalled
Office and patch SR-1. The problem still persists. On the
re-install I was not presented with the connection choice
when starting Outlook for the 1st time.
Is there a "easy" way to fix this or do I have to start all
over again and reformat my system.

Thanks in advance.

go into control panel and select mail - you can adjust most settings within
there (removing exchange and adding in intenet mail etc) but you won't be
able to change it from Corporate/Workgroup mode to Internet Email.
