Outlook 2000 using DL in a filter to forward emails

I am trying to detect if an email is from a member of a DL, and if so then
forward the email to another address. I get the following error when I use
the DL in the filter (people or distribution list):
'Recruiters' is a personal distribution list that may not be used with this
feature. Would you like to use the individual members of 'Recruiters'
instead?

Whether I click OK or Cancel the members of 'Recruiters' are not copied in.

Using Outlook in non-corporate mode.
