hi,
I use outlook 2000 and have two connections to acess my mail server. At office I use LAN same mail connection to access the mail server and at home I have dial up to acess the same mail server. How do I setup outlook so that it can c thoose the connection automatically? There is no such option "dial up when Lan is not present" can be seen on the settings.(I remember I have seen such an option on another machine)
Thanks and regards

You do not have such an option because a LAN connection is "always present" as it was designed to be.

If you only use your dial-up for this specific account, then you can choose "Connect using my phone line"
in the connection settings specific to this account. This will allow you to create the connection adjacent to
your LAN line, but only when you send/receive via this account. Have all other accounts configured to just
use the LAN line and you should be ok.
