outlook 2000 won't open

I reinstalled office 2000 and get the following message
when I try to open outlook: "This program has performed
an illegal operation and will be shut down".
Details: "Invalid page fault in module gapi32.dll"
Then if you press OK, a message appears "Failed to
register a VB Script.dll. Reinstall or run Regsvr32.exe
Vbscript.dll to self register."

Can anyone help? I've already tried "fixing" as well as
reinstalling office.
