OUTLOOK 2000 won't remember my pwd

I bought new computer, Win XP and Norton Antivirus installed. I loaded
Outlook 2000, and now it wont remember my pwd for receiving email - I cannot
automatically receive email on scheduled intervals without reentering pwd
everytime. Is this Norton causing problems?

Dana, try this...

In Outlook, go to Tools > Services. On the Services tab, click on your
internet e-mail service and click the Properties button. Now, go to the
Servers tab and make sure Remember password is checked.

Thanks, but I've already tried going through the services tab, also
recreating my mail servers and checking the remember pwd box, also everytime
I reenter my pwd when I click Send/Receive I recheck the remember box - but
never works. Thanks for you input.

there are two places you'll need to click to have OL remember your
password IF your servers reqire authorization. you found the first
one. assuming your servers require authorization,

TOOLS
ACCOUNTS
SELECT THE ACCOUNT
PROPERTIES
SERVERS
SETTINGS
REMEMBER PASSWORD
