Outlook 2000 won't send email while roaming

Hi-I help a small office group with their computer issues from time t
time. They have Outlook 2000, use POP and SMTP settings for sending an
receiving their email for their ISP (they're not on an exchange server)
They are using WinXP SP2 Home for their OS.

One of the employees has a wireless laptop, and as long as she's at he
office, she can send email from Outlook 2000 just fine. But if she roam
to another location, like her home or a hotel, Outlook won't send emai
(she can *receive* anywhere just fine, though). It just gets stuck i
her outbox. This happens whether she logs into an available wireles
network, or if she actually plugs her computer into an Interne
connection (she doesn't log into any type of network with a user ID an
password, is what I'm trying to say).

I've verified all of her outgoing server settings and everything's jus
fine. What am I missing here? Why would there be no problems wit
receiving email, but sending email is a problem? Does anyone have an
ideas on how to fix this? Thanks in advance

Not surprising at all. Most ISPs don't allow relaying (i.e., sending mail
from an ISP A address using ISP B's mail server). When she tries to send
mail from (e-mail address removed) while connected to otherisp.com she'll get this
error.

If her ISP has a web interface, that's one way. Another is to make sure
she's properly authenticating to the mail servers, both inbound and
outbound.
