Outlook 20007 crashes on startup

Vista Home Premium is OS. Was using Office 2002. Had problems w/password
access to Outlook so installed Office 2007 OEM version using upgrade option.
Everything worked fine except for Outlook. Notice on startup was "Microsoft
Office Outlook has stopped working..." ran diagnostics on all the .pst files
and repaired hinky ones. Ran every diagnostic I could find with no change in
crashing. Finally I completely uninstalled anything associated with Office
and reinstalled the whole deal. This time I see all my inbox stuff (could
not see it before the reinstall) and appointments (now past due, of course)
for about 4 seconds or so then get "Microsoft Office Outlook has stopped
working..." once again. I have run the diagnostics again, verified I have
no add-ins that may interfere, checked my virus software (F Secure 2007) for
compatibility. Don't know what else to do?????? Any suggestions?

When you uninstalled "everything" did that include Outlook 2002?

Wow! That did it. Removed old settings and put them right back in. Outlook
opened up just fine. Thanks so much! And yes, I did uninstall 2002 along
with everything else when I installed the upgrade, but all directories, phone
books, etc. seem to still be there. Just got notification of 4 past due
meetings. Luckily had them all synced to my G3 phone.

"everything" did that include Outlook 2002?
