Outlook 2001 Mac - attachments no opening properly

Computer Configuration:
Mac OS 9.
Microsoft Outlook 2001


If someone sends a PowerPoint or Excel document to a user, he encounters an
issue where he cannot always just double-click the file to open the
attachment...

Summary - Outlook 2001 is loosing link to use Excel or PowerPoint
programs to open a changed document from within the Outlook 2001
client. How do we reset Outlook 2001 to use Excel or PowerPoint
programs to open changed documents with an email message?

Work Around - Can use the SAVE AS command to move updated attachment
to the desktop and then insert back into original email message then
using the Save command while in the message.
