We recently moved to a new server (Exchange 2003 on Win2003;
old server was Exchange 2000 on Win2000).
We have one Mac user (MacOS 10.3). Our experience with Entourage X
was abysmal, so she uses iCal and Groupcal (from Snerdware) to access
her calendar. To look at other users' calendars, she uses Outlook 2001
(which runs in Classic mode).
When we moved to the new Exchange server, she could no longer
access calendars that she had previously accessed, either from
File | Open | Other User's Folder or File | Open and then the shortcut
(the error was about permissions, which were as before and OK), unless
we first did this: File | Open | Other User's Folder, then try to look
at say User A's Tasks (which may or may not work, depending on whether
User A had granted access for Tasks), and then go back and open User A's
Calendar. It's as if Outlook has an out-of-date idea about which Exchange
server User A is on but asking for the Tasks makes it actually figure out
where User A is, then everything works (we had a similar problem with
older Outlooks under Windows, but there the full File | Open | Other User's
Folder worked). We haven't had any similar problem with calendars that
she hadn't accessed when they were on the old server.
Unfortunately Outlook 2001 seems to revert to that outdated idea about
where other folks' calendars are when it's restarted. So we have a
kludgy workaround, but I'd like to actually fix this. Can I make Outlook
2001 forget about all calendars it's accessed as a delegate in the past?
Other suggestions?
Thanks,
Sandy
