Outlook 2002 and address book

J

John Moore

I have a problem with Outlook 2002's address book. The
contact list is fine, but when I try to open my address
book, I have to select either Contact or Outlook Address
Book from the "Show Name from the" drop down list. There
is nothing in the Outlook Address Book choice. Also, the
names are not displayed the way I have selected (Last
name first). When I try to edit an entry, nothing
changes unless I copy the data to the clipboard and then
delete the entry and make a new one. I use Eazybackup to
keep the data synced with my laptop but it never updates
the address book. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

John

The Outlook Address Book should be empty. It holds the folders that you can
display in the Address Book View. Click on the Folder you want to display.
The Address Book is never used for data entry. That's what the Contacts
Folders are for.

Russ;

Thanks for the information. I assumed that since there
is an icon of an address book on the toolbar that it
should contain addresses. My bad. However, when I open
a new e-mail, it does open the contacts list.

Thanks again,

John

If you want, you should be able to set the order in which folders appear so
that the correct folder appears first when you open the Address Book. Look
at Tools > Options... in the Address Book.
