Outlook 2002 and gmail

Is this the right place to ask about Outlook 2002?

I'm trying to configure it to work with Gmail. I've got just abut
everything set up correctly, but the smtp settings don't work -- it won't
send mail.

I've followed the wacky instructions on the gmail help page, but to no
avail.

Any help? Or is there another newsgroup I should be asking this?
