Outlook 2002 and Hotmail Not Accepting Username and Password

I am trying to use Outlook 2002 to manage my Hotmail
account. However after setting up the http connection to
hotmail as described in
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;287424 I keep getting the error below:

Task 'Hotmail: Folder:Inbox Synchronizing headers.'
reported error (0x800CCC32) : 'Access to the account was
denied. Verify that your username and password are
correct.'

I have logged into hotmail with the same credentials on
the web with no troubles at all. I have also used
different combinations of uppercase and lower case
letters for the user name and "hotmail.com". Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
