We need the ability to have multiple users logon to a common Exchange
mailbox. I have been able to accomplish this goal by setting the "LOGON
NETWORK SECURITY" option to None which forces a prompt for a username, PW and
Domain name. With this option in place we can logon to our domain with any
user account and launch Outlook and get a prompt to input the common mailbox
account information and get to mailbox successfully.
The issue is that we also must lock down the common mailbox's account so
that it cannot login to any client PC. When we restrict the mail account to
only allow logon to the exchange server and our DC we receive an error that
"The credentials we supplied were incorrect..." and cannot access the mailbox.
My question is if anybody knows what access we must grant the common mailbox
account other than logon ability to the DC and the Exchange server itself to
get this to work. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
