Some people on our network have Outlook 2002 version and other have 2003 and
higher. The 2002 users cannot open messages saved in client folders wich was
send or received by 2003 and higher users.
E-mails are not folders. Folders cannot be sent by e-mail. So just HOW are
these users "sending" each other their "folders"?
Outlook 2002, and earlier, only supported the ANSI format in .pst files
which had a maximum size of 2GB (1.87GiB). Outlook 2003, and later, support
both ANSI and Unicode format .pst files. Unicode .pst files have a default
maximum size of 20GB but can be raised to 2TB (but with handling that gets
slower as the size increases above 20GB and larger than 20GB requires a
registry edit, as I recall).
So my guess on what is really happening is these users are sharing their
..pst files. The OL2003+ users are creating Unicode .pst files that the
Ol2002- users can't read.
