Outlook 2002 Crashes at Startup in Vista

Dan

I have installed the Office XP Suite on my new laptop in Vista and I am
unable to open Outlook 2002. Every time I try, I get the error message:
"Microsoft Outlook has stopped working" and I am unable to go any further.

I have the Office XP Service Pack 3, and the latest security updates, etc.
Does anyone have any idea how to get around this? All suggestions are
welcome.

Thanks very much for your help,

Dan

You realise that only Office 2003 & above is suported on Vista?
OL2002 usually works, they main bug being that passwords are not retained.
You dont have a trial version installed do you?

I had heard that only 2003 and 2007 are supported, yes. However, if at all
possible I was hoping to avoid paying hundreds of dollars again on Office
when the XP version is sufficient for my needs.

About the trial version, the laptop did have a trial version of 2007 on it.
Would that conflict with the XP Suite?

Thanks,

Dan

Only one instance of OL can be installed.
You are advised to install the older version of Office first, so yes
uninstall the trial
