outlook 2002 crashes on calendar appt. save

I'm on windows XP. Outlook 2002 runs OK, but when I try
to post an new appt., and then "save and close" the
appointment form, I get a message that Outlook is
experiencing a problem and must shut down.

DW.exe is kicked in, and I get the following on further
inspection:
Outlook 10.0.2627, mod mso.dll 10.0.3501.0 offset 000147db.

Any ideas or suggestions is appreciated!
