Outlook 2002 crashes

I use Outlook 2002 and for some 5 years I have used Outlook with no problems.
I rebuilt my computer (wiped the HDD and re-installed all the software)
earlier this year and installed a 2nd HDD, more memory etc. at the same time.
Ever since the rebuild Outlook repeatedly crashes for no apparent reason.

I have emails archived for 6 years and thought that this was the problem but
I tried both "disconnecting" the archives and moving them from the secondary
HDD to the primary and neither solved the problem. I have ensured that I have
all the latest MS updates installed. I have even re-installed Office
(cleaning out all entries in the Registry appertaining to Outlook) but this
has still not solved the problem. I have done this twice now. I am not using
Cloudmark (and never have used it).

The crash can occur either whilst the computer is lying dormant or when it
is being used (it has just crashed as I am checking this post before
publishing it and no other program is being used). The crash results in the
usual message asking whether I want to send the report to MS or not.

I have set up a new profile but this did not work. I seem to recall finding
a message on this Forum about deleting certain files but can't now refind the
thread.

Does anyone have any ideas or clues as to the problems.

Checking the two recent failures I have the following logged on both
occasions under Application. There is no error report under System.

Faulting application outlook.exe, version 10.0.6626.0, faulting module
unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x10001a37.

Sorry there is no copy facility in Event Viewer (Windows XP Pro). Opening the
event merely displays a summary information noted below and the data in bytes
or words. Selecting "<ctrl>C" certainly has no effect. Can you please clarify?

When you open the Event, on the right side there is a big Copy button below
the Previous and Next buttons.

Sadly that Event ID means an unknown source crashed Outlook. Which add-ins
do you have installed?
When you run Outlook in Outlook Safe Mode, does it crash just as frequent?

Start-> Run; outlook.exe /safe

I have Norton Antispam outlook plugin ('cos I run NIS 2005) and Exchange
extensions property pages (but don't know the function of this one).

I'll try running in safe mode tomorrow (which I think I can do by simply
holding down the <ctrl> key or, as you say, adding the parameter.

I have run Outlook for two days now in Safe Mode without any crashes. So, can
anyone tell me what this is telling me please? (Oh, prior to this I did
delete my outcmd.dat and extend.dat files that have obviously been recreated).

The only other piece of information is that I store my *.pst files in a
folder of my choice rather than the default location.
