We have an Outlook 2002 user who is sending out messages with the Glacier
Stationery and an html signature (created in MS Word 2002).
When Outlook Express users open these messages, which contain bullet
characters, the bullets display fine on screen but print out as 6 or 7 random
characters.
Also, the receiving Outlook Express users were getting "Install the Japanese
Language Pack" dialog box when receiving these Outlook 2002-generated
messages.
Looking at the source code of a message, why would Outlook encode it's
outgoing email messages as "charset="iso-2022-jp" --
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit? This is an English user.
I have tried using no signature, which allows the message to display
properly and does not give the ""Install the Japanese Language Pack" dialog
box.
HOWEVER, even using no signature, but adding a bullet to the body of an
email message, it seems that Outlook again encodes the message as as
"charset="iso-2022-jp" -- Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit.
Therefore again the bullets display correctly on screen but do not print out
correctly, but rather as 6 or 7 random characters.
What can I do to change the Outlook 2002/Word 2002 settings to correct this?
Help!
Thanks very much.
