Outlook 2002 gives me an error message with I try to import mail from Eudora 5.1

Hello,

Whenever I try to import my mail messages (I don't really
need to important address book contacts), outlook tells me
that "The mail folder could not be opened, if another
application is using it please close it."

I made sure Eudora was closed before trying this.

My Eudora mail folder is on another partition from the
default location, so I made a copy of all my mail file in
the default Eudora folder and tried again, only to see the
same error.

Since Eudora will not export to a neutral file type such
as .CSV or such I tried a couple trialware 3rd party
programs to do it, but I realized that the message date
cannot be preserved via .CSV import.

I have heard that many people convert from obscure mail
format to Eudora format before converting to .pst, because
it supposedly works well. I cannot understand why I am
having such difficulty doing what many consider a simple
task.

By the way I also have MS Activesync installed if that
makes a difference.

For the life of me I cannot figure out what is causing
this. Maybe one of you knows what is going on, and I'd
really appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks!

I'm in the exact same situation and I was really surprised to find that it seems to be impossible to get my mail from Eudora 5.1 to Outlook (mine is XP). I'm sorry that my message only adds to the frustration other people like me are experiencing trying to connect these two products.
