Outlook 2002 Hangs at Shutdown

I have Outlook 2002 on a Dell 4500 With Win XP. I can use
Outllok but when I close out of the program, I notice in
running processes, that it is still there running. It
also hang the computer on shutdown and requires me to end
task to complete a shutdown. Any Idesa???
