Outlook 2002: How to keep the hyperlink file folder from changing

Mr. Low

Dear Sir,

I use the hyperlink mode frequently while drafting my internal e-mails.

I am working on a network PC that has more than 5 hard drives. It is normal
for me to insert up to 4 or 5 hyperlinks in a single e-mail.

My Outlook does not have a setting to prevent the folder from returning to
its default address at C:\My documents after inserting.

As a result of this the hyperlink folder always returns to its default and
I have to navigate back to my earlier folder to insert the next file. This is
a tedious task when the hyperlinks to be inserted are many.

May I know if there is a way to let the link folder remain were it is until
the next file that I inseted is under a different drive or folder ?

Thanks

Low

Personally I take a different approach when I have to insert hyperlinks to
multiple files. Instead of using the Insert-> Hyperlink feature in Outlook I
browse to the file/folder in Explorer. Select the file(s)/folder you want to
create hyperlinks to and use the right mouse button to drag and drop the
items into your new message. When you drop them you get the option to insert
it as a hyperlink. Saves a lot of clicks and browsing.

Hello Robert,

I tried your method today, it could only drop the file to the e-mail
application at the desktop. However there were no hyperlink option that I
could choose.

For the Outlook 2002 application at the network server, I could not even
drop the file after dragging and realeasing it to the e-mail body.

When the cursor reached the e-mail body there was a bold black O symbol with
a line across its diameter appeared at the tip of the cursor.

I could not figure out what this meant. when I droped the file, I could not
see any effect. No hyperlink option for me to click at.

Any other solutions for this problem ?

Thanks
