Outlook 2002--how to remove registry key for removed 3rd party add

Every time I launch Outlook I get an error that says:

"The add-in "C:\Program Files\Logitech\SetPoint\KEMMAPI.DLL" could not be
installed or loaded. This problem may be resolved by using Detect and Repair
on the Help Menu. Unable to load "C:\Program
Files\Logitech\SetPoint\KEMMA...". You may be out of memory, out of system
resources, or missing a .dll file."

This occurred because I installed and then decided to return a MX5000
Logitech Desktop. Their uninstaller software leaves this key in Outlook and
their tech support monkeys were unable to help with the problem, even after 2
hours on the phone.

I've searched the registry in regedit and searched for "SetPoint", etc., and
just randomly deleting things feels a bit wierd. Is there some way to
manage/delete references to add-ins for Outlook 2002? I already launched
Detect and Repair, but haven't yet tried the one that offers to discard
custom settings and start over.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

See if that DLL is mentioned in this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Exchange\Client\Extensions

Delete the value that contains a pointer to the bad DLL

Bummer. No reference there to this DLL. The only place I can find/have
found a reference to that .dll is in an InprocServer32 folder at
{061AA8B3-68F2-456E-B405-C32CC1B8F2A6}--but deleting that didn't seem to help.

Well actually, I didn't attempt to delete the entire folder at
{061AA8B3-68F2-456E-B405-C32CC1B8F2A6} .... there's a second reference there
to KEMMAPI.KEMMAPIUtils in a ProgID folder there as well.

Yes! This worked! You solved what two levels of Logitech tech support
people couldn't with well over 90 minutes total on the phone (and weeks to
research).

I just posted the same question for Outlook 2007. I also spend 2 hours on the
phone with Logitech. I just followed your advice and removed the extend.dat
file and it worked!
