Outlook 2002 not retaining password

Kevin Weller

First post here so "Hi".

I recently gave my Mother a PC which is running Vista Home Premium and
then installed Office XP. Outlook 2002 will not remember her email
password whether I set it when I'm setting up the email account or tell
Outlook to remember it when it pops up the dialogue box requesting it.

Once set it remembers the password for that session but it has to be
re-entered when Outlook has been restarted.

Both Vista and Office are fully patched. I'm searched the MSKB and
didn't come up with anything that fitted. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Outlook 2002 is not compatible with Vista and this is one symptom o
it. You cannot fix it

Ah thanks, that'll be why I've been unable to resolve it then!

Knowing what the problem is helped me Google the right issue and there
seem to be various workarounds involving things like AutoHotKey so I'll
give those a try.

Failing that we'll fall back to Windows Mail and Contacts.
