Outlook 2002 on XP

I attempt to open Inbox email with no attachment and
okay. I attempt to open Inbox email with attachment and
Outlook appears to hang in send/receive mode. I have to
use task manager to end app then XP generates the error
send report. Then I have to restart PC. Any ideas why
this happens?
