Outlook 2002 Post-Service Pack 2 Hotfix

Norman Petzold

Hello,

I have Outlook 2002 Sp2 and have the problem with customizing outlook today
and the
databinding tables. The problem is known under knowledgebase entry 821667
'OL2002:
You Cannot Use the Outlook Databinding Control to View Another User's
Outlook Folder'

To solve the problem Microsoft recommand you to request the hotfix
'Outlook 2002 Post-Service Pack 2 Hotfix Package: June 7, 2003'
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=822613

My problem is that I own an OEM copy of the product and every time I enter
my
product PID to request the hotfix from Microsoft it say that I cannot get
any
support for OEM products. So what can I do now?

Can anybody help me how to get this hotfix, it's really important for me.

Thanks,
Norman

CAn you open a web incident and report that the problem you are having can
be fixed with the Post SP-2 hotfix? Detail exactly what the problem is and
the relevant KB article in your post.

Microsoft's policy is that if you have an OEM version, the manufacturer
provides the support. That's why you can't finle a web incident.

I'm sure that the problem is fixed with this post sp-2 hotfix.
It is detailed described in KB article KB821667. The
hotfix is available under
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=822613

The problem is that I use more then one calendar and want to
customize my outlook today page to display the content of these
additional calendars. But the databinding is not working in Outlook
2002. My customized page works fine with Outlook 2000, so
I'm sure that the customizing is correct.

Sorry, but where can I open a 'web incident'?

The manufacturer cannot help me. So my only chance to get this
patch is to buy an additional retail outlook 2002? Not really.

Why can't the manufacturer help you? I believe their OEM agreement with
Microsoft includes an obligation to provide support.

Another possible avenue is to call Microsoft Support, instead of trying to
file a web incident, and explain the situation.
