Outlook 2002 probs with outgoing mail

Caaagh

Hi I hope you can help
My father has rung me as he has major problems sending emails at the
moment.

He has Outlook 2002 on Win XP Professional connected via BT Openworld on
broadband. Tosh Sat Pro laptop.

Any email he sends bounces straigh back with Server Authoristion required -
I haven't
got the exact error message.

I have talked him through
Start -Control Panel - Mail - View email account - Change - More settings -
Outgoing server - where the button saying my outgoing server requires
authentication is ticked. This is what BT told him might be the problem
(they said it should be ticked - on my system with another ISP it isn't and
I have no probs). We've also tried it with this box unticked, but no joy.

I have also gone through in Outlook itself
Toools - Options - Security - Zone Settings and tried to enable some
functions but I don't know which ones need to be enabled.

Nothing has helped and he still gets outgoing emails (not with attachments -
blank emails) bounced back. He has no problem receiving emails.

Can anybody help?
Thanks
Sheila
