Outlook 2002- Prompt you to save/open attachment

G

Glen

When I would double click an attachment, it used to ask me if I wanted to
open or save and a checkbox where it says to ask me every time. I must have
unchecked that, because it now goes straight to open. I cannot find anywhere
to tell it to ask me again…

Until you find a solution: As a workaround you can simply right-click on the
attachment icon and then select either Open or Save-as.

I discovered that earlier; I was really hoping for a solution. Surely, there
must be a way to get this prompt back; there has to be.

Open Windows Explorer and click Tools>Folder Options. Select the File Types
tab, Locate the file extension the attachment uses and select it. Click
Advanced. Check the box that says "Confirm open after download" and click
OK, then OK. Close Windows Explorer. Stop and restart Outlook. Try again.
