Could this be fix one problem but cause another?
I am experiencing an Intermittent problem SENDING new Mail using Outlook
2002. I have been using Outlook since Nov '05.......my Mail service is
Verizon\Yahoo.....and I have never experienced any problems until yesterday.
I had a Spell check Problem as to Repeating words.....and that was corrected
by activating the Word Spell Check Editor for Outlook, then removing the Word
Spell check Editor. Since that time, when I create a new message, or, reply
to a message, the message sometimes will not SEND. The problem is
intermittent...I would guess 40% of the time the Message will NOT send. What
I get is the ENTER NETWORK PASSWORD window...which shows the correct outgoing
server info, my User ID and Password shown using "*"...and all are correct.
If I click on Cancel....I can then see the Error window which
reads...."Sending reported error (0x800CCC92): Your e-mail server rejected
your Login. Verify your user name.......etc". Now if my User name or
Password was incorrect, I could never SEND or receive. I am having no
problems receiving...and again, only intermittent problems sending. I have
(1)...removed and re-created the Mail Account in Outlook ..several time; (2)
I have turned off my Security and Firewall....none of these things has
corrected the SEND problem (even though these programs have been running
forever...I thought it was worth turning them off to see if it corrected the
problem, it didn't). I have also contacted my DSL
Provider.....Verizon\Yahoo...who assure me there is no problem with the
service, and, as long as I can SEND and RECEIVE mail using their Web Site
E-Mail Service, which I can with No problems (which of course uses the same
User name and Password) it is an indicator the problem must be with Outlook.
So, could I have somehow corrupted Outlook when I was following steps to
correct the Repeating Spell Check Problem? Is there a way that if Outlook is
corrupted, the software can be fixed without deleting and re-installing
Outlook (I have a lot of folders...etc in Outlook that I don't want to
loose)?
Any suggestion that can be recommended will be appreciated. I am Running
WindowsXP, Home Edition...Service Pack 2.
