Outlook 2002 shuts down when attaching files

I am running Outlook 2002 (10.4712.4219)SP-2 on Windows XP
and when I attach a file to an email and then send it,
Outlook just shuts down with no error message. Sometimes
it manages to send the email first, but sometimes it shuts
down before it can send the entire email. Does anyone
know how to fix this?

Have you tried running Detect and Repair?
