Outlook 2002 - Slow Preview Pane

Interesting problem with Outlook 2002:

I have the Preview Pane enabled for e-mail, when I select
an e-mail from the listing Outlook 2002 takes upwards of
5 seconds to render the message in the preview pane.
Needless to say that this gets quitetimeconsuming and
annoying.

This is the second time I've had this problem and in
order to resolve it the first time I was required to do a
fresh install of both Windows XP and Office XP as just re-
installing Office XP didn't fix the problem.

Any ideas?
