Outlook 2002 SP3 and AutoPreview

My AutoPreview keeps getting reset to "ON" mode. Typically this occurs when I've taken Outlook down and back up but just today I noticed that it had occurred even while Outlook was up.
How can I reset AutoPreview to stay "OFF"? That is, to not display the first 3 lines or so of each message?
I need to somehow address this "annoyance".
