Outlook 2002 stopped working after joining domain!

Hi all.

After I added a user's laptop to the domain, Outlook stopped working.
Outlook worked fine pre-domain. Outlook reports that it has found the
server but there was no response from the server when user tries to
download email. I've reset the username and password several times
thinking that the problem was the user not being authenticated but no
luck. I am not using Exchange now (future project).

Could this be a user profile issue? Should I have laptop re-join the
domain? Has anyone experienced this problem? I have had this same thing
happen with a workstation. Outlook works fine pre-domain but stops
working post-domain. What's going on?

Thanks for your help.

If your not using Exchange I assume you are using a POP account?
It may be that when you joined the domain some polices were put into
affect that controlled access to certain ports on the firewall? I don't
know just asking.

Do you have "use Secure Password Authentication (SPA)" checked for the
user's account? If so, try turning it off (it probably isn't supported by
your current server anyway...)
