Outlook 2002 won't recognize my Palm Treo 755p when using Parallel

I'm using Parallels 4.0 on my Mac to run windows on my Mac. I'm also
synching my Microsoft Outlook with Plaxo for Outlook and that works fine. My
phone synched up just fine with it once, right after installing the Palm
Software, but now it seems Parallels won't recognize my Palm Treo in order to
sync it with the Virtual Machine. I get the following message over and over
again when I hook up my phone, regardless if I follow the message's
instructions. This message occurs even though I don't even press the sync
button on my Palm Treo:

Stop the Palm synchronization and start it again. Click Cancel on the Palm
device's screen to stop the synchronization, then start it again. The device
will be automatically connected to the virtual machine. Make sure you do not
connect any other devices to your Mac when working with Palm. OK.

I need to find out if the problem is with Microsoft Outlook 2002, Parallels,
or some setting in either of the Programs. I doubt it is an issue with my
phone, its settings, or the USB 2.0 cable from the phone as it will sync fine
with my PC.

Please help!

If the device isn't being recognized it would be either an issue with the
driver or with Parallels.

Either way, Outlook doesn't have an active role in the syncing process as
that is entirely up to the sync software that is being used. I'd start with
troubleshooting the recognition of your device under Parallels. Good chance
that once you've solved that the rest will work as well. Additionally, check
if your sync software still supports Outlook 2002.

Thank you. I will look into that. By the way, I also get the message at the
bottom right of my Parallels Desktop: USB Device Not Recognized. One of the
USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not
recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message.

However when I click the message, none of what is told to me really helps
fix my problem.
